PhoCo outing: macro photography workshop
2025-11-14
You might be wondering why such an album is displayed on the website. At first, just to be clear, I don't think I made any of these images, and I only applied a preset and exported them to 1600 pixels wide jpgs; so they're not my pictures in general (probably Sonja's or You Xing's). Then, well, around 3 May 2026 I (Bas) tried to upload lots of images that were left on the DSEA Nikon D5200 camera since around August of 2025 (OWee). I had to figure out which pictures were already (digitally) devloped by other PhoCo members like Sonja and You Xing. I, however, missed an already existing album of November 2025 LAN photos, resulting in me creating another one. It unfortunately seemed impossible to delete an album, and Daan from the ITCo also couldn't delete it with his admin permissions. It turned out that, at the time, deleting a whole photo album was not a feature on the DSEA website.
So, the solution for this was to replace the 2nd November 2025 album with another album. As I ran out of 'normal' DSEA pictures on the camera, and it may take a little while before new pictures would be ready to appear, I chose to replace this former Nov. 2025 LAN album with photos of our committee outing in November 2025: "Photowalk: Macrofotografie met Kyle van Bavel". It was a great and fun day where we were greeted with a presentation by professional macro photographer Kyle, whereafter we went outside to attempt to capture some high magnifcation images of nature. It clearly showed, though, that DSEA was missing a 1:1 reproduction ration macro lens, and the magnification was lacking a bit. But they did their best and it was a great team bonding activity!
You may also be wondering why this text is put here. Well, after a few years, I realized barely anyone (read: no one) actually looks at the images on the website. In case you'd be looking at this somehwere in the (distant) future, you're free to send me some sort of a Miku gif or emoji via whatever messaging service you'd like. I maybe won't even know why you'd do that in general, but it's fun nonetheless. I honestly think no one will ever read this text, which is funny to some degree. Miku pog.
